Symphonic Movements Of The Living Spirit

Image
Living Spirit Art -  My general theme throughout my work is to unveil or hint to a kind of "Divine presence" or "Living Spirit."   I saw somewhere recently in an article that the Earth was a kind of living thing.  Light plays a significant role in living things.  I use it as a metaphor how trees or plants with their limbs and branches, and blades turn toward the light or grow toward it, as I think our human desire to reach out and embrace something higher than ourselves.  This Living Spirit I see like a flowing stream of music with each color a musical tone.  My brush becomes my baton and I am the maestro.   I create Symphonic Movements Of The Living Spirit.  My goal as an artist is to help unveil this symphonic movement to the viewer that they may hear through the "eyes."

Daily notes

Because of my memory issues I am going to do postings of each day.  Karen is home. All the pets are good. I am waiting for the gesso to dry for my next painting.  I ordered a supply of regular acrylic paints.  I want to get some iridescent paints to give the paintings a kind of ever-changing quality of them throughout the day, nothing dramatic, just very subtle.   I really love this painting.  I want to do more with flow, geometric designs, and feminine shapes.  Most of my paintings have a tree in them.  One of my "trade mark" subjects is with the female shape in a tree.  Oh, I also want to push "Living Spirit Art" as the theme of my work.

A PAINTING A DAY

Image
Starting tomorrow,  Aug. 4th, 2020, I will do one painting a day for a year.  Along with each painting, I will write a little piece about the painting.  During this phase I also will be working on paintings that will take longer to create in addition to the daily painting.   Stefan Duncan Gallery will be opening in a couple of weeks.  The building's renovation will be complete in several weeks.  I also have to paint the walls inside my gallery and of course hang several dozen paintings.  I will be there during the gallery's operating hours with an easel painting in the corner of the gallery.   I am planning on doing a large abstract painting and in several weeks, a portrait of David Cook in my tree portrait series.  I will blog here everyday and less on Facebook.  The rest of the time will be for marketing for the gallery and for online. So, the goal is to have completed 365 paintings by Aug. 4th, 2021.   I hope you will join me on this creative journey.  Oo.....that's a lo
